Floor work and cardio?REP rubber-topped foam, from $2.81 a sq ft

Fewest seams?Titan's 4 x 15 ft roll
A deadlift spot?Titan 1.6 in lifting tiles

Matching the floor to the training

Under a rack and for dropped weights. Solid rubber is the usual choice. REP's rubber tiles are 3/8 in and 8 lb each1; Titan's roll is 8 mm and weighs 100 lb3. Titan's 1.6 in lifting tiles are made for a deadlift platform and Titan notes which platforms they fit5.

For floor work and cardio. REP's rubber-topped foam tiles are lighter (2.5 lb or 3 lb per tile) with an EVA foam base2. Foam is softer underfoot but is a different product from solid rubber; check the merchant's guidance on heavy racks and drops.

Tiles or a roll. Tiles are easier to carry and cut around a room; a roll has fewer seams. Titan's interlocking tiles say they need no adhesive4.

Flooring questions

How many REP tiles do I need for a 10 x 12 ft room?

120 sq ft divided by 4 sq ft per tile is 30 tiles, or 8 sets of 4 (32 tiles) with two spare1. At $69.99 a set that is $559.92 before shipping.

Does a roll fit a 10 ft wide room?

Titan's roll is 4 ft wide and 15 ft long3, so three rolls side by side cover 12 x 15 ft and you would cut the excess.
